The victim is a female. Additional information about her age or identity was not released.
“At this time, we are working it as a homicide,” Jackson said. “I don’t have all the information as to what’s transpired at this point, but we do have a suspect in custody and several witnesses that we’re detaining right now.”
Investigators are working to interview witnesses and collect evidence at the scene.
A weapon has been recovered, Jackson said.
It’s not clear what led up to the shooting.
